Inspired by her late father who highly valued education and was the first president to launch University of Battambang in Cambodia in the 60s, Bonnearin is honored to be a part of this team.
Bonnearin resided in the U.S. in 1981. She started school as a freshmen at Beaverton High and moved on to attended Portland State University. Bonnearin began her career at Bureau of Land Management in 1990 as a Programmer/Analyst working primarily with oracle database along with 12 other Software Development team members. Family is her top priority and after the birth of her second child, Bonnearin put her passion in programming aside and left her career at BLM in 1995 to devote one hundred percent of her time to her family. Over the years of being a stay at home mom, Bonnearin has been an active school volunteer and a Cambodian community volunteer, primarily as a dance director and dance teacher for eight consecutive years, “I find great pleasure watching my students preserving our dance tradition and heritage” says Bonnearin. She worked briefly as a substitute teacher assistant for Beaverton School District when she found the time. While Bonnearin is still currently a devoted stay at home mother and a community volunteer, you may occasionally find her enjoying working as a Beauty Specialist for Philosophy Cosmetic Company at Nordstrom during store special events.
“Family is very important to me and I have no regret giving up the career I love for my children. I just wish they didn’t have to grow so fast, it’s been truly a blessing,” says Bonnearin; she and her husband have two children. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, going to her children’s sport activities and martial arts tournaments, traveling, cruising to exotic places, shopping, entertainment and fine dining. As a Cambodian classical dancer, Bonnearin also has great appreciation for music, art, yoga, martial art forms, and Cambodian traditional dance.
